Our staff members are passionate about their fields, and take care to ensure that the learning environment is conducive to a full understanding and exploration of the subjects taught, backed up by a strong moral and ethical code, excellent facilities and management of class sizes to an average of less than 30. Our award winning media centre includes a library, state of the art computer technology and modern audio visual centres. Boys are assisted with their progress through a goal setting system, augmented by career guidance and a counselling infrastructure to assist boys to critically assess their strengths and weaknesses. They then go on to match these qualities to subject choices and potential career paths.

As a result, DHS has always ranked as a top all-boys school in KwaZulu-Natal, with an 86% matric exemption rate over the past 5 years and with our top learners regularly part of the top 10 in KZN.
