In 2016 DHS will celebrate a rich history spanning 150 years. DHS has established a heritage of excellence through providing a holistic education and continues to produce top results in the areas of; Personal Development and Leadership, Academics, Sports and Culture, over nearly a century and a half.

It is not surprising that the second oldest Government High School in Natal has a multitude of items, memorabilia, documents, trophies, photographs, etc. in its possession furnishing evidence of the School’s contribution to the City of Durban, the greater South Africa and, indeed, throughout the world. The Archives serve as a holding room for this collection.
