Our exceptional track record in all sporting spheres is ensured by our excellent facilities and skilled coaches at the school. DHS offers an extensive range of sporting activities and we excel at all levels, with some boys going on to build professional careers in their chosen areas. We offer a dedicated sports academy specializing in Rugby, Cricket, Water polo and Basketball, also providing coaching and teams in a variety of other sports.

Through our sports academy, run on an intra-curricular basis, we provide our boys with training in a broader sense in their chosen sports. DHS nurtures loyalty and respect in its players at all levels, good sportsmanship is of equal importance to achievement, and DHS boys are seen as ambassadors for their school, with teams frequently touring South Africa and abroad. Our high level of provincial and national representation includes, the most South African cricketers to date, one of the top Aquatics schools in South Africa, the best basketball team in Southern Africa and winning the SA Schools Canoeing Championships in 2005 and S.A. School Surfing Championships for 2007 and 2008
