Performing Arts Competition

An annual event on the Durban High School calendar is the Performing Arts Competition (PAC). The competition follows a talent show format, with auditions held in the categories of drama, music and dance. In addition, there is a visual art category and boys submit their art entries to be judged. The artwork which is submitted by the boys is usually themed.

The PAC Committee selects the top acts in drama, music and dance to compete on the night of the event. The artwork is displayed in the foyer of the Chris Seabrooke Theatre and guests have the opportunity to view this on arrival before taking their seats inside the DC Thompson Hall.

The PAC is normally hosted by two Matric drama boys who introduce each act. The audience is entertained by an array of performances in the categories of drama, music and dance. Invited judges decide on the winners in each category and the winners are awarded certificates in their various categories.

Durban High School has an immense amount of talent and continues to be a school dedicated to providing opportunities for our boys to shine and display their talents.
