Hassen Moorad received 92% average and was 2nd in KZN for Maths; Joshua Spooner received 92% average and stayed ahead of Hassen by 2 marks to remain as Dux for 2016; Steven Waites received 86%

Congratulations must go to the Matric Class of 2016 on their excellent Matric results!
In 2016, we registered 187 boys for the National Senior Certificate examinations, with 185 of our boys being resulted – two learners results are incomplete due to illness. 179 DHS boys passed their matriculation examinations, with four failures, which is a 98% pass rate; and 156 received Bachelor passes which is 87%.

We are particularly pleased with the 87% Bachelor pass rate, which is up from 75% last year.
Our top 2 learners, Joshua Spooner and Hassen Moorad did exceptionally well, both receiving 92% averages.
Hassen was invited to attend the Awards Ceremony at the ICC where he was presented with an award for being 2nd in KZN for Mathematics with 99%.
Joshua remains Dux for 2016 as he received 2 more points than Hassen.
Their final marks were as follows:
Joshua:
ENGHL 92%, AFRFA 92%, MATH 97%, LIFE 92%, GEOG 94%, PHSC 90%, VSLA 91%
Hassen:
ENGHL 83%, AFRFA 90%, MATH 99%, LIFE 92%, ACCN 96%, ECON 95%, PHSC 93%
Of the 1280 subject symbols that were awarded to the Class of 2016:
242 were A symbols (19%),
293 were B symbols (23%),
333 were C symbols (26%)
196 were D symbols (15%)
139 were E symbols (11%)
51 were F symbols (4%)
Subjects in which 30% and over of the boys received As are as follows:
isiZulu 57%
Drama 68%
Accounting 31%
IT 33%
Most pleasing were the averages in many of the subjects, with Drama, IT, isiZulu, LO all having averages of over 70%.
