Chess Selections
The following boys represented KZN at the South African Junior Chess Championships in Boksburg in December:
Sridhar Chandraduth (U18A), Cayden Pather (U16A), Shivaan Devpruth (U16B), Thirushan Pather (U16B), Sachen Pather (U14A)
The U18 A team was placed 4th in SA with Sridhar achieving second position; the U16A team was placed 1st in SA; and the U16B team was placed 3rd in SA. Each of the boys received team trophies.
Thirushan Pather received a special trophy for being selected as the Best Board 3 Player in the tournament.
Sachen Pather (U14) and Cayden Pather (U16) have qualified to play in the SA closed tournament which takes place in April 2017.

The following boys have been accepted into the KZN Youth Choir for 2017:
Cohen Naidoo, Mvelo Novoh, Ndumiso Ngcobo, Nkanyiso Gasa, Senzo Langazana
All the boys attended the compulsory camp at Drakensville Resort in December. During the camp Senzo was elected as one of the members of the 2017 student council.
The boys have all been selected to participate in the international tour to Spain to take place in June/July 2017.

Sam Kayembe has been selected for the U19 Ethekwini Team to compete in the Salga Games.
The following DHS Old Boys will be wearing their SA Basketball Colours for U20 in Angola next month, with coach Lethu as Assistant Coach:
