The Durban Youth Council is a vibrant non-profit organisation that comprises of over 100 learners from over 30 Durban high schools. The Council works to improve the Durban community and address issues that the youth of today encounter on a regular basis.
Each year, every school is allowed to send four or six representatives to the DYC, depending on the prior year’s performance. In 2016, DHS was one of six schools to attain a School Award, which allowed us to send six learners.
2017 also shows to be a promising year, with DHS producing its 10th Mayoral Position Holder when Zakariya Adam was selected as the Deputy Mayor. This is the most Mayoral Position Holders produced by any school.
Wednesday, 11 January 2017 saw the DHS DYC boys attend their first general assembly of 2017 at the BAT Centre.
We wish you the best of luck, gentlemen. Let’s retain our School Award and keep our legacy burning!
