This year Durban High School will be celebrating its 151st Birthday with the usual pomp and ceremony. Founders Day is on Saturday 3 June, with various events being held in the week prior.
On Wednesday 31 May the Head Master, Mr Pinheiro, together with the Head Prefect, Phendulani Buthelezi, will be having tea with the DHS Old Boys who live at Caister Lodge. Some of our Music boys will accompany them to provide entertainment for our Old Boys.
Friday 2 June will be very busy with a number of celebrations taking place:
First up is the Founders Day Assembly at 8am in the DC Thompson Hall. All the Old Boys of Durban High School are invited to attend this Special Assembly which is held to honour them. A special tribute will be paid at the Assembly to longstanding staff member, Mr AJ Human. Tea will be served after the ceremony.
After the Assembly all our boys and staff will all receive a piece of birthday cake to celebrate the School’s 51st Birthday!
The DHS Foundation Trust Golf Day takes place on Friday at the Durban Country Club, with tee offs from 10h32.
The DHS Old Boys Foundation Trust Dinner also takes place on Friday 2 June, from 19h30 in the DC Thompson Hall. All Old Boys are invited to attend and will be seated in their respective years.
