Another three of our boys are off to Spain in the holidays.
Cohen Naidoo, Nkanyisa Gasa and Senzo Lanagzana have been selected as members of the KZN Youth Choir which departs for Spain on 29 June on an 18-day tour, returning on 17 July.
They are participating in the International Golden Voices of Barcelona Competition, the biggest and most renowned choir event in the world.  The Golden Voices of Barcelona Festival will showcase the beauty of vocal blend and Choral Culture.  The Choir will perform in the most famous Catholic churches in Europe, Sagrada Familia and La Catedral la Santa Cruz y Santana Eulalia where the Archbishop’s residence is. It is a unique international festival competition and they will be performing in the heart of Barcelona. The event is held to promote the art of choral and vocal singing to develop creative links between vocal ensembles and choirs of other countries to expand the repertoire of choral groups internationally.
 
The participating choirs that are awarded the most points will winthe GOLDEN VOICES OF BARCELONA competition. The competition itself runs from 9 to 13 July.
The KZN Choir will be travelling to Madrid, Toledo, Seville, Muas, Valencia, Lloret De Mar and Barcelona
 
The Choir engages talented singers for a choir based on Christian ethos and an atmosphere of discipline, hard work and encouragement.
Cohen Naidoo is in Grade 11. He was a member of the DPHS Choir from Grade 4 and a member of the DHS Deo Fretus Choir since Grade 8. He has 8 years of choir experience and is a self-taught pianist. This is his second year of being selected as a member of the KZN Youth Choir.
Senzo and Nkanyisa are in Grade 12 and have been members of the DHS Deo Fretus Choir since Grade 8.  Nkanyisa was a member of the Glenwood Junior Prep Choir in Grade 2 and 3 and the Penzance Choir in Grade 6 and 7.
Cohen, Senzo and Nkanyisa, along with 66 other choristers, will be representing South Africa and Cohen, Senzo and Nkanyisa will be representing KZN and Durban High School.
