The met Westville B in the Quarter Finals and beat them and then 3-0. This win allowed the team to proceed to the semi-finals where they won against St Dunstan’s 3-0. It was then on to the finals where they played against the favourites for the Championships, Hoërskool Jim Fouché from Bloemfontein. The match was extremely fast paced, however, the DHS boys showed determination and pushed through in order to take the victory and the SA School Champs with a win of 3-0.
According to the M-i-C of DHS Badminton, Mr Charles Moodley: “Once again I am proud of our team for their outstanding play and for successfully defending their title once again. Their hard work and dedication to the sport has paid off.”
“This was one of the best contested finals that the BSA has ever had,” said Mrs Emelda Botha (Chairlady of KZN Badminton Association).
