Mr Bryan Adam, Head of the Electives Programme, hosted an Open Evening this week to give parents and boys the opportunity to find out more about the Electives which are going to be offered at Durban High School, as well as how the electives will be incorporated into the school day.
The evening was well attended by interested boys and their parents, as well as the companies and staff members who will be running the various electives.
The Electives on offer for the first semester are:
Languages (Zulu; Portuguese; French)
Entrepreneurship
Practical Courses (First Aid; Sailing Course, Rocket Building)
Tertiary readiness course through Varsity College
Online Learning Programmes
Information Technology Literacy
Community Engagement
Public Speaking and Toastmasters
Videography & Photography
Academic Support Classes
Registration forms for the Electives have been circulated to the Boys and are also available to download from the D6 Communicator. The forms needs to be returned asap, and before the 7 February. Places in the Electives are on a first come first serve basis.
The Electives will commence on Monday 5 March 2018.
