The Crickmore Brothers

11 February:
Sunday surprised everyone by turning into the most amazing sailing day, against all predictions! We had nice cloud cover and good wind which saw the DHS sailors getting some great sailing time on the water on the Tera’s and the Halcats. We even managed to get some parents out on the water to share in the experience.
Many thanks to Mrs Jennifer Weyer who gives freely of her time to coach the boys on these days. Anyone is welcome to come down on these training days if they are keen to try the sport out.
The next Dinghy sailing day will be Sunday 25 February. This coming weekend is the Midmar 9 hour Endurance race and our team will be represented by Joshua and Cameron Crickmore who will be participating in the race. We wish them well!
18 February:
The weekend of 18 February Joshua and Cameron Crickmore participated in the Midmar 9 hour endurance sailing race, hosted by Henley Midmar Yacht Club.
This was a tough first race to enter and they acquitted themselves exceptionally well, sailing in a very experienced field. They sailed as a team on the Halcat Cat-A-Tak and were placed 25th overall, winning the Handicap honours and Line honours for the Junior Fleet.
Well done, Joshua and Cameron – this is a fantastic achievement for sailors with 7 months experience!
