On Friday SA Rugby announced the winners of the 2017 SA Rugby Awards and we are delighted that our SA Schools scrumhalf from last year, Sanele Nohamba, was named the Craven Week Player of 2017. This is the first time a DHS player, a KZN player and a scrumhalf has won this title.
Sanele completed his Matric at Durban High School last year. He played for the Durban High School 1st XV and 1st 7s Rugby and was selected for SA Schools for both.
Sanele is currently a member of the Sharks Academy, a world-class rugby academy accredited by SA Rugby.
“We are ecstatic to have another pupil from Durban High School showcase their talent. We are so proud of Sanele’s achievements and are certain that he will go on to be a successful sportsman. Congratulations to you, Sanele!” said his 1st XV Rugby Coach, Scott Mathie, a former Sharks player who also played Scrumhalf.
Congratulations, Sanele, on another fine achievement. We are all so incredibly proud of you and will be watching your progress with great interest.
