Coach Letha Zulu

Congratulations to Coach Letha Zulu, coach of the DHS 1st Basketball Team and M-i-C of Basketball, who has been appointed as the Head Coach of the Men’s National University Basketball team which will participate in the CUCSA Games in Botswana in June.
Coach Letha coaches the UKZN Basketball team which made history last year when they reached the Finals of the University Sports South Africa (USSA) Tournament.  This was the first time the team reached the Finals and the first year that Coach Letha coached them.  As a result of his success, he was invited to apply for the position as Head Coach; he is also the most qualified Basketball Coach in the country at USSA.
Coach Letha has been traveling around the country every weekend, scouting the provinces for players, funded by NUSA (National University Sports Association).
The national Basketball team will be attending a training camp in Pretoria prior to leaving for Botswana on 16 June to attend the CUCSA Games at the University of Botswana Indoor Sports Complex in Gabarone. The Tournament runs from 17 to 22 June and will be attended by 10 African countries who will all participate in different sporting codes.
Coach Letha says he is  looking forward to coaching the team and to being reunited with Thabo Sithole, who is at UKZN, and Skhumbuzo Mthembu, who is at UJ – both DHS Old boys, they are Basketball Captains at their respective institutions.
Congratulations, Coach Letha!
