Congratulations to our very own Ms Magteld “Buffy” Bisschoff who has been selected for KZN Darts for the third time!
She was first selected in 2016 and played at the SA Champs in Bloemfontein, she was selected again in 2012 when the SA Champs were held in Durban and this, her third year, the SA’s are in Johannesburg.
A further indication of her talent is that she has also been selected twice to play for the eThekweni District side, 2016 and 2017, and has been chosen as Player of the Year twice and Most improved Player twice, by the Association for which she plays, the Durban West Dart Association.
Ms Bisschoff says the competition is extremely fierce amongst the ladies in KZN. There are two Association teams from Durban itself, Durban West Darts (two teams) and Durban Central. There are also Associations from Amanzimtoti Pietermaritzburg, Chatsworth and Tongaat. A play-off had to be held for 6th place for the KZN side this year.
Ms Bisschoff has also played for the Durban West Association’s A-team at the SA Champs since 2002. They have improved over the years from C-section to A-section and are regularly amongst the top 5 in the A-section.
Ms Bisschoff is the M-i-C of Darts at DHS and her classroom is turned into a games room in the afternoons when the dartboard goes up and the tables and chairs are cleared away!
