The Best Speakers Competition is run by the Speech & Drama College (SA). The entrants are required to have a prepared oral of 5 minutes long and are then given an impromptu topic that they have to speak on for 2 minutes.
The Competition was held at Westville Boys’ High last night and approximately 32 entrants from various schools in the Durban region attended.
Adam Mohamed, in Grade 10 at DHS, successfully managed to get through to the final round of eight. The competition was stiff competition. First place was claimed by a young lady from Maris Stella and second place was a young man from Westville Boys’.
Well done, Adam, on a fine performance!
