Langley Day

Langley Day 2

It was a very special day at DHS as we welcomed the return of Langley Day to School’s calendar.
Langley Day is where we host the Grade 6’s of our brother school, Durban Preparatory High School.
The Grade 6s of DPHS were treated to a full day at School, and were shown exactly what would be offered to them in all aspects of a schooling career at DHS.
This started with a warm welcome by Head Master, Mr Pinheiro, which was then followed by a brief chat from Director of Marketing, Mr La Marque.  The boys were then introduced to all the Directors of our various sports, namely Nathan Pillay, Michael Baker, Scott Mathie and Andrew Shedlock – Mr Shedlock being a Prep Old Boy himself!
Shortly after being introduced to our staff, the boys were taken to our Science Block where they were shown an array of experiments, which they thoroughly enjoyed!
After this, the boys were completely blown away by our state of the art Chris Seabrooke Theatre and the Chris Seabrooke Music Centre. In both of these venues, they were treated to beautiful performances – by Mrs Natalie Rungan and her musicians in the Music Centre and Ms Leigh Meyer and the drama boys in our Theatre.  The Prep boys were thrilled to participate in the performances as well.
To complete the day, DPHS were treated to a lovely lunch, catered by Peppers & Pans in Blackmore House.
We are very thankful to be able to share this day and relationship with Prep once again, and long may this continue.
