The top end of the Class of 2018 achieved excellent Matric results, with nine boys receiving a full house of 7 distinctions each and we are exceptionally proud of them!
175 Durban High School boys passed their National Senior Certificate and overall some excellent results were achieved – 18 boys received A aggregates. Unfortunately, the tail end disappointed – eight boys were not up to scratch and failed due to poor work ethics and not listening to the advice of their educators. Having said that, the pass rate of 96%, which is slightly down from last year’s 99%, is still well over the national and provincial pass rate. We will keep working hard to achieve that elusive 100% pass rate.
134 of the boys received Bachelor (University) passes, 10 more than 2017, which is also a pleasing statistic.
The top learner was Mahil Dessai with a 93% aggregate, followed closely by Shay Naidoo with an aggregate of 92%.
