We welcome Mr Morné Jansen van Rensburg into the Mathematics Department at Durban High School.
Mr Jansen van Rensburg comes highly recommended. He obtained his teaching degree through UNISA, opting to gain work experience while studying.
He began as a student teacher at Dundee Junior School and quickly worked his way up in terms of involvement and this presented him with the opportunity to work at Sarel Cilliers High School in Glencoe. Having spent most of his time there gaining valuable experience regarding Academics, Rugby and Cricket he wishes to learn even more at Durban High School.
Mr Jansen van Rensburg was the manager coordinator of Northern Natal Rugby Schools, as well as the manager of several NKZN U18 and U19 teams during his time at Sarel Cilliers.
“This experience has given me an opportunity to broaden my horizons,” he said. He was also involved with the Inland cricketing structures during his time at both of these schools.
Apart from joining the Mathematics Department, Mr Jansen van Rensburg has joined Blackmore House as one of the House Masters. He looks forward to working with the boys on a daily basis and to encouraging them to be better than they were the day before. He believes that hard work brings success and is looking forward to the challenges and new environment and also hopes that he can bring a positive contribution to School.
Mr Jansen van Rensburg’s wife Mrs Tamsin Jansen van Rensburg, will also be joining School, in the English department, in the 2nd term. The reason for the delay is due to the fact that she is currently on maternity leave, their second child having been born last week.
Welcome to Durban High School, Mr Jansen van Rensburg! And congratulations to you and your wife on the birth of your daughter, Mikaela. We look forward to your whole family being a part of our family and wish you a long and happy stay!
