The 2020 swimming season was one of great excitement. The boys started the season slowly and gained momentum as we progressed. Huge emphasis was placed on the technical aspects of each stroke and with that we were able to eliminate any possible disqualifications.
Elite swim coach Mrs D McLeod continued working as the Head Coach and she was assisted by Mr M Nixon-James. Both added immense value to the programme and the results were evident. Every swimmer gave 100% in the events.
The team was very well led by Breydon Remley. His administration at the galas was excellent.
The Championship Gala was a fantastic event and all races were very competitive. The final placings were as follows:
1st Swales 114
2nd Payne 97
3rd Langley 84
4th Blackmore 58
5th Grice 50
6th Campbell 32
In the interschool galas, the junior age groups again added incredible value to School’s swimming team. These age groups were regular top two finishers in their respective events, the highlight being the three U15 victories in the D&D Gala.
In total, the swim team participated in two warm up galas and competed in the four competition galas. The result at the Alan Burt Gala was disappointing, but from thereon the boys posted brilliant results:
