Cricket
Khulekani Mseleku has been selected for the U19 CSA (Cricket South Africa) National Camp. What an achievement! And Khulekani is also only U17 – which is absolutely incredible!
We are immensely proud of you, Khulekani. You have done yourself, School and your family so very proud.
Surfing
Ntokozo ‘Surprise’ Maphumulo won the Surfing Airshow competition that took place at Victoria Bay and the KZN U16 Surfing Trials at SA Champs.
It has been a phenomenal year for Toks and anyone involved with Surfing in South Africa will tell you that he is destined for great things. We at DHS are in complete awe of his continuous achievements in the sport.
Swimming
Brendan Visser recently produced an outstanding set of results in the SA Short Course Competition, which hosts the top Swimmers from around the country.
Brendan was entered into 4 events and swam personal bests for all of them. He qualified for three A finals that included competitors who participated in both The Commonwealth Games and The Olympics. All Swimmers he swam against were also much older than him. Brendan’s results were as follows:
2nd place for 800m Freestyle
4th place for 1500m Freestyle
6th place for 400m Freestyle

Golf
Daniel Bennett, our Golfing Maestro, won the KZN School Individual Championships, winning the Van Wyk Floating Trophy, which is presented to the KZN Schools Strokeplay Champion. The Van Wyk Floating Trophy was introduced in 2007 and Daniel is the first ever DHS pupil to win it.
Words cannot explain how proud DHS and the DHS Family are of you and your achievements, Daniel. May you continue to go from strength to strength.
Badminton
Sherav Maharaj has been selected to represent KwaZulu-Natal in Badminton!
Sherav has been chosen for the KZN U17 Side which will be taking part in the U17 SA Championships in Cape Town from 2-7 October.

Sevens Rugby
The following DHS boys were selected for the Sharks U17 Sevens Rugby Team:

Zingce Simka – Non-traveling reserve
The DHS 1st Sevens Team enjoyed a brilliant Sevens season, making two out of a possible three Cup Finals which included a dominating 40-12 victory over Westville in the DHS Cup Final.
We are extremely proud of all of you for these much-deserved selections after a fantastic season.
Rugby
Tholithemba Sibisi, Mr R Uys and Mr M Colia have been selected to represent the Sharks U19 Invitational Team to play against the New Zealand U19 Team on Saturday 24 September at DHS.
After a stellar year, Tholithemba has been rewarded with another phenomenal selection to add to his brilliant season. Mr Uys has been selected as Assistant Coach, and Mr Colia as the Team Physiotherapist.
The fixture will be played on our Van Heerden Field, with kick-off at 10:00am. All are welcome to come and watch this special fixture, one that we are honoured to be hosting. There will be no entrance fee.

Fishing
Kaden McKenzie recently won the National U16 Junior Gamefish Nationals. An avid fisherman since the age of 3, Kaden’s experience and knowledge of the ocean proved instrumental in KZN Gold medal. With this performance, Kaden has now been selected for the Inter-Zonal Gamefish and Bottomfish competition held at the Warnadoone Ski Boat Club!
Congratulations, Kaden, we are ecstatic to see the success you are achieving through your passion!
Kuveshan Naidoo has been selected for the KZN Inland U16 Shore Angling Team. Congratulations, and good luck to you as you participate in the South African Junior National Championships being held in January next year at Langebaan, a town 120km north of Cape Town.
