Poetry

Congratulations to Akaziwe Ndlela who recently won the 5th Annual Maris Stella Poetry Slam as a Junior Poet!

We have a proud history in the world of poetry at School having produced world renowned poets such as Fernando Pessoa and Roy Campbell and we are thrilled with Akaziwe’s accomplishment as he looks to follow in the footsteps of these extraordinary DHS Old Boys.

All Stars Shine

On 21 August, the All Stars Shine Concert was held at The Playhouse with no less than 10 schools coming together to perform an absolute masterpiece.

The show was co-ordinated by our Director of Music, Ms Rungan. We would like to congratulate both Ms Rungan and all of our boys who were stars of the show and completely blew the audience away.

Sisonke Cultural Competition

School will be hosting a Cultural Competition, “Sisonke – We are Together”, on Wednesday 28 September. The competition will feature music, drama, dance, poetry and art. Prizes will be awarded in the various categories.

Sisonke will take place in the DC Thompson Hall, tickets are R10 per person and can be purchased at the door on the evening of the show, or from the Cashier, Mrs Dicks, prior to the evening.

The evening will take the form of a Supper/Barnyard style theatre. The audience may bring their own food and drinks, or purchase at the event from the DHS Tuckshop which will be set up in the Hall Foyer. Pre-orders for meals may be booked via henkbez72@gmail.com

All our Boys are encouraged to attend and participate in the show, which promises to be a great celebration for Heritage Day.
