The extension of our Cambridge & Nonpareil Academy is underway.
With the demand for placement in our DHS Cambridge & Nonpareil Academy increasing at its current rate, the most obvious solution would be to find an empty space and fill it with another class. Unfortunately, being a suburban school, space is limited so we have had to get creative. As you drive past Durban High School in the coming months and see the roof of one of our buildings coming off – do not be alarmed. In order to build a whole new floor for our Cambridge & Nonpareil Academy we will be going up.
The expansion project is part of our ongoing commitment to provide top quality education to our current and future boys of DHS. Our highly trained and experienced teachers have seen through 5 years of DHS students at AS and A Level. Over these past five years, our students have all produced grades of A’s (80% and above) and A* (90% and above). Our young men have joined the University of Cape Town for Medicine, Mechatronics and Actuarial Sciences, the University of Stellenbosch for Computer Sciences, Engineering and Actuarial Sciences, Wits University for Medicine, and Engineering and UKZN for Law. All our learners have passed with exceptional marks and the Dean’s Commendations. We are extremely proud of the foundations Cambridge has given them.
Our biggest accolade to date will be the two young gentlemen who have gone on to join Harvard University (Ivy League) on full scholarships after completing their Cambridge education at DHS.
DHS 2024 Cambridge Admissions are open for Grade 8 IGCSE Preparation, Grade 9/10 IGCSE 2 Year Qualification, and Grade 11/12 AS and A Level Qualification.
Did you know DHS is also a Cambridge Examination Centre? So, as well as offering a full range of IGCSE’s AS and A Level subjects, which are all taught in house by our full-time teachers, outside students can also come and write their exams on our campus.
The Cambridge curriculum only officially starts in Grade 9, not in Grade 8.
