HOCKEY:
Returning from his recent triumph with the SA U21 team who won gold in the African Junior World Cup Qualifiers, Leruo Ditlhakanyane has now been named in the 24 Man South African Men’s Indoor Squad.
This young man, who is still only 17 years old, has already started to make a mark on the South African Hockey scene and we are certain that this will not be the last time you hear his name in a South African Hockey Squad.
SEVENS RUGBY:
Congratulations to Zingce Simka and Hopewell Ntshangase who have both been selected for the South African U18A Sevens Rugby Team.
The team will be participating in Commonwealth Youth Games, which will be taking place in Trinidad & Tobago, on 4-11 August.
ACADEMICS:
Cayden Diener, Grade 8, has been selected as a member of one of the four official South African teams to participate in the Bulgaria International Mathematics Competition (BIMC) 2023. Only 16 High School scholars in South Africa are selected to make up four teams of four members each.
Cayden competed with Grade 8 to 12 scholars who all took the same tests and received the same training. He will travel to Bloemfontein on 27 June 2023 to start his week of training and preparation before the official contest, which will be written on Monday 3 July 2023 on a virtual platform in Bloemfontein.
We are extremely proud of this achievement, as he has worked extremely hard to get this far. This will be his second international contest as he was selected to compete in the Primary School division last year when it was hosted by Indonesia.
SURFING:

Kaden McKenzie was then selected for the KZN Deep Sea Angling Association U19 Team. Kaden and the team will be competing in the Junior Gamefish Nationals at Shelly Beach from 27 June to 2 July 2023.

WATER POLO:
It is with great pride that we can announce that not one, but two, of our Water Polo staff members were selected for South Africa, AGAIN!
Dylan Cronje and Gareth May have been part of our coaching staff for the past few years, coaching the U15A team and the U14A team, respectively.
They were selected to represent South Africa at the upcoming World Aquatics Senior Men’s Water Polo World Cup Qualifier in Berlin which took place in May 2023.
MUSIC:
If it’s not the boys achieving the highest honours, it is the DHS Staff that are.
This time around, Ms Natalie Rungan has been recognized by receiving an International Akademia Music Grand Award for her lively and introspective Jazz EP, ‘There’s a Sound in My Head’.
We are so fortunate that we have such a talented musician as Director of the Music Department at DHS.
Congratulations to all the Boys and Staff on these outstanding achievements.
